Neurosurgery is a specialty built on knowledge, dedication, and hard work. But above all, it is built by people.
Throughout their careers, each neurosurgeon is influenced by mentors, colleagues, partners, and friends who leave a lasting mark on their professional and personal development. These are people who share experiences, offer guidance, open doors, inspire attitudes, and contribute to the growth of an entire generation.
In this spirit, the XXII Congress of the Brazilian Academy of Neurosurgery will hold a special ceremony called the President's Tribute, a moment dedicated to recognizing professionals who have played a relevant role in the development of Neurosurgery, Neurosciences, and Brazilian Medicine, in addition to having contributed significantly to the professional trajectory of the President of the Congress and the Brazilian Academy of Neurosurgery, Dr. André Giacomelli Leal.
This tribute transcends titles and positions. It represents gratitude.
Gratitude to those who taught, guided, encouraged, supported, and helped build projects, institutions, and opportunities that positively impacted Brazilian Neurosurgery.
During the ceremony, professionals who have distinguished themselves through their scientific, educational, healthcare, and human contributions will be honored, becoming role models for colleagues, residents, and students throughout the country.
More than celebrating brilliant careers, this tribute seeks to value the principles that underpin our specialty: friendship, ethics, generosity, collaboration, and commitment to the education of future generations.
Because no great journey is built alone.
And because recognizing those who helped us get to where we are today is one of the noblest ways to honor the past and inspire the future.
